SEE MORE ABOUT US

About the trip

Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand, in partnership with Music Theatre International Australasia have created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for New Zealand's most outstanding musical theatre performers to come together and perform at the world's largest festival celebrating the talents and achievements of young people in musical theatre, the Junior Theatre Festival Atlanta. This trip provides our young performers to participate on the world stage, and to learn skills which will hopefully be a lifelong passion and career. The KiwiAllStars event will be a USA musical theatre performance adventure, encompassing New York, JTF Atlanta, Hollywood and Disneyland!

Help us get to the USA!

We will be holding a series of fundraising events in 2023 from live performances in public to Nearly-New sales of donated items and everything in between.

We know that we need to work hard to reach our goals and so we have joined together as a group to combine our talents to meet them!  See our list of events and activities for ways you can support us.

THE PERFORMERS

Māui Hitchens, 17

Māui is passionate about acting, singing and musical theatre. He has acted in films, TV series, plays and musical theatre performances, including playing  Fagin in Oliver with National Youth Theatre. He is really looking forward to this amazing opportunity to go to New York and Atlanta.

Sammy Hook, 17

Sammy fell in love with theatre first while working backstage with her mum on costuming. She soon found that performing on the stage was her true calling. Her performance highlights include playing Anna in NYT’s production of Frozen Jr, and Kate in Centrestage’s production of Legally Blonde. Sammy can’t wait for the Kiwi All-Stars 2024 trip and is excited to use this opportunity to develop her skills.

Harrison Maxwell, 16

Harrison's first stage performance was age 4, and since then he has been acting, dancing and singing including roles as Hans in Frozen Jr. His Choir, The Fundamentals, won the NZ National Championships Tui Award in 2022. Harry is also an enthusiastic song-writer and wrote original music for RockQuest in 2022.  He is very excited about the opportunity to learn in New York and improve his theatre skills.

Matilda Adams, 15

Matilda found a love for musical theatre after watching a production of Annie when she was 6.  She started performing at aged 8 and has had a passion for all things singing, acting and dancing ever since.  Matilda has been fortunate to have had tuition from Emma Bishop at StageAntics, Janine Donnell at Donnell Studios as well as the National Youth Theatre.  Her personal highlights have been playing Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast and Artful Dodger in Oliver! with NYT.  Matilda is very much looking forward to learning from Broadway professionals and enhancing her performance skills.

Jordan Ria D'Mello, 14

Jordan Ria has been acting, singing & dancing with her sisters, entertaining family & friends ever since she could talk and walk. This encouraged her love for musicals and all things theatre. She has been part of the National Youth Theatre since she was 6 years old, making her stage debut in NYT’s production of The Little Mermaid Jr. and has since gone on to act in over 14 musical productions with them and many plays at school.

Jordan Ria is most excited to learn from Broadway professional actors in New York and be part of the Junior Theatre Festival, Atlanta where she will be representing NYT and New Zealand and be part of her musical theatre whānau!
